Bringing the Outside In

The Royal Voluntary Service Stay Safe, Warm and Well campaign, delivered with long-term partner Yakult, provides people with up-to-date wellbeing advice and support throughout the winter. The campaign offers key information and useful tips on how to prepare for the winter months, both practically and emotionally, with a focus on the importance of staying socially connected.

The Virtual Village Hall brings people together to enjoy a range of wonderful activities and opportunities to chat with others. During November, you’ll find a series of Safe, Warm and Well sessions, created in partnership with Yakult to ‘Bring the Outside In’.

BBC wildlife presenter, Megan McCubbin, will be sharing ways to support wildlife over the colder months, and we’ll be meeting the residents of Charnwood Forest Alpacas in Leicestershire. VVH gardener, Rachel Moore, will be harvesting seasonal produce from her Kent allotment and challenging food influencer, Dominic Franks, to create a tasty autumnal ‘plot to plate’ recipe.

Walking coach, Elaine Fisher, will be hosting a guided virtual walk in the Lake District, and Steffi Stern from The Makerss will show us how to needle felt a jolly, Scandinavian style Tomte or gonk – perfect for the festive season.

We hope you’ll join us!
