Movement for your mind: gentle dance class

Tutor: Molly Grey, dance instructor

Join dance instructor Molly for a gentle 30 minute seated to standing dance-based movement to music class. This is a fun, choreographed exercise session that you can adapt to suit your own ability. To take part, you will need a sturdy, upright chair (not an armchair) and, if you have them, some props - a hat, lightweight tea towel or scarf, and a fan or light magazine or newspaper.

Please note that the whole session can be done without any of the props listed if not available.

Prep: make sure you have plenty of space, clear any potential hazards, put on comfortable shoes/trainers and turn up the music!

Session time: 30 minutes

What you need to take part:

  • Space to stretch out and move
  • Comfortable clothing and shoes/trainers
  • A chair or surface to hold on to for anyone with mobility issues
  • Water

If you have them:

  • A hat that can be put on and removed easily, like a cap
  • A scarf or lightweight tea towel
  • A newspaper, magazine or small notebook
  • A cane, walking stick, closed umbrella or golf club

Please note that the whole session can be done without any of the props listed if not available.
