Moroccan Lemon Chicken Tagine

Join Moroccan cook, Nadia, as she demonstrates how to make a delicious authentic Moroccan Lemon Chicken Tagine, a popular national dish from Morocco. Serve with some couscous or crunchy/ flat bread.

Preparation: set out your ingredients and equipment. Chop a small bunch of coriander. Crush 3/4 cloves of garlic.

Materials and equipment you'll need to take part:


    • A tagine or a medium size shallow pan
    • A knife
    • A wooden spoon


  • 1 pack of chicken thighs
  • A medium onion
  • A small bunch of coriander
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 6 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp of coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Few stands of saffron (optional)
  • 1 medium sized preserved lemon
  • A jar of green or red olives
