Tutor: Emelye James, jewellery maker and craft workshop tutor

Join Em, jewellery maker and founder of Emelye James Creative Studio, in this workshop on how to make pieces of jewellery out of polymer clay. During the session Em will show you how to condition clay, colour mix, add patterns and texture and assemble both earrings and pendants. She will also talk through the benefits of different brands of polymer clay and share how to cure it and the different finishing options. A fun, informative and hands-on workshop where you get to wear what you’ve made!

Preparation

Smooth ceramic tile, marble worksurface or smooth plastic lid to work on

  • x2 packs of 57g Fimo Soft polymer clay
  • Items from around your home with nice textures
  • Skewers or cocktail stick
  • Jewellery findings

Equipment

  • Rolling pin (or a tall glass)
  • Craft knife or blade is helpful
  • Small cookie cutters
  • Pliers (needle nose are best)
  • Super glue
