How to make a wormery

During the session you will learn how to build a wormery so that you can turn your kitchen scraps into compost and fertiliser for your flowers. Materials

  • Compost or coir fibre
  • Fruit and veg scraps (avoid citrus and onion as it is too acidic for worms)
  • Coffee grounds
  • Handful of composting worms (different from garden worms, available to buy online)

Equipment

  • Plastic storage boxes approx 16”x 20”x 8” (40cm x 50cm x 20cm)
  • Water barrel tap
  • Drill and drill bits
  • Lid for the top tray
