Home fire safety

Host: Laura Hodgson, Partnerships Manager, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service

In this Home Fire Safety session, Laura Hodgson from the Prevention Team at North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service shares some of the reasons why firefighters are called to accidental fires and suggests steps to take to reduce the risk of fire at home. Laura explains how every Fire & Rescue Service offers a free online Home Fire Safety Check which provides householders with a personalised fire safety action plan to keep the household safe from fire. Laura also explains how to qualify for a visit from your local Fire Service.

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service works closely with partners including the NHS, Councils and voluntary sector organisations to reduce fires, deaths and accidents resulting from fire. It promotes road safety and water safety messages too.
