Christmas cake decorating

Join Michelle, our regular Virtual Village Hall maker and baker as she demonstrates some creative ways to decorate a Christmas cake.
Preparation
Set out your ingredients and equipment, preheat oven.

- An 8” Christmas cake, baked and cooled ready for decorating
 - 900g Marzipan
 - 1Kg white fondant icing
 - 2tbsp apricot conserve (other conserves will work!)
 - Suggested decorations: we will be making a snowman but the choice is yours
 - 250g coloured fondant for the hat
 - Chocolate Buttons
 - Sultanas or black fondant for the eyes and mouth
 - Orange fondant or a dried apricot for the nose
 - Festive ribbon or fondant for the scarf
 
- 10” Cake board or large plate
 - A knife
 - Rolling pin
 - Pastry brush
