Creative Writing Tutor at the Virtual Village Hall
Alison Mott is a writer, teacher and accredited writing coach, and has been a much-valued part of the VVH for five years. Alison’s sessions are designed to nurture self-expression and creativity in writers of all ages and abilities, inspired by her distinctive, soothing and encouraging teaching style.
“Being a VVH tutor has improved my mental wellbeing and I’ve learned new skills – digital skills, especially. It has also given me a stronger understanding of what makes a good online writing session and how to pitch prompts to people with a broad range of interests, educational experience and skills."
The visibility of the sessions has also stopped people in my wider family from seeing my writing as ‘a bit of a hobby’, and my children are quite proud of what I’ve achieved. But the greatest impact is on my sense of self.”
