Happy Birthday everyone, The Virtual Village Hall turns five years old today!
Five years ago, the Virtual Village Hall opened its (virtual) doors — and what a journey it’s been! From kitchen discos to mindful moments, crafty mornings to strength workouts, we’ve moved, made, and connected together every step of the way!
From our early days during the first Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, here’s where we are now:
- More than 100,000 followers, including Health and Social Care professionals like GPs, hospital nurses, social prescribers and care home activity co-ordinators
- Over 3,000 activity sessions
- 9 millions total views to date
- New audiences on Instagram and TikTok and the introduction of short-form content.
Whatever your circumstances, we hope the VVH is helping you feel better, happier, healthier and more connected. Perhaps you’ve tried something new for the first time or have rediscovered a hobby or interest you enjoyed years ago. Maybe you’ve helped a patient, client or resident feel like they’re part of something positive and supportive.
Our over-arching aim has always been to get the Virtual Village Hall to every person in the UK that could benefit from it. We’re so glad you’re with us on that journey.
We’ve got exciting plans for the next 12 months, including:
- Growing our presence on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok
- Recruiting a team of Community Engagement volunteers to share the VVH across online community groups and networks the length and breadth of the UK
- To take the VVH to some of the UK’s biggest events for Health and Social Care professionals.
Powered by community, supported by the players of The Postcode Lottery, and brought to life by our incredible tutors, you’ve helped shape this space into something truly special. To our brilliant Virtual Villagers—thank you for being part of it. Here’s to another year!
We’ve made a short film to celebrate the Virtual Village Hall’s 5th Birthday. You can watch it below – we hope you enjoy it.
