30 Minute Laughter Yoga for Menopause

Tutor: Tess Sanderson, Laughter Yoga Coach

Laughter is good for the soul, but what happens if we don’t have much to laugh about?

Laughter yoga coach Tess hosts this 30 minute session to help us learn to laugh spontaneously in order to re-energise and relax. Find a comfortable place to sit or stand to take part.

During this session, Tess focuses on yoga breathwork to reduce anxiety and promote clearer thinking, gentle stretching and light cardio to strengthen the heart and lower cortisol, and a calming meditation to support self-belief and empowerment during menopause.

This session is part of World Menopause Awareness Month, explore more sessions our our World Menopause Awareness 2025 YouTube Playlist.

What is Laughter Yoga?

Laughter yoga was developed 20 years ago by Indian medical doctor, Madan Kataria, who realised his patients recovered quicker when he involved laughter in their care. The practice is based on the belief that voluntary laughter provides similar physiological and psychological benefits as spontaneous laughter.
