Dried flower wreath
Tutor: Vicky Crawford, dried flower artist
Join self-taught dried flower artist, Vicky, as she works with home grown, harvested and locally foraged flowers and foliage from her rural base in Buckinghamshire. In this session, Vicky demonstrates how to select and weave a combination of dried flowers and foliage into a half moon wreath design on an 8 inch macrame hoop, embellished with feathers and a velvet ribbon.
Preparation
Prepare your materials and clear a space to work.
Vicky asks us to get out in the garden, hedgerows or local forest to forage some flowers and foliage (noting to only forage where you have permission from the landowner and/or where there is an abundance of growth). Hang your foraged flowers and foliage upside down (if still fresh) in a dark, warm room with ventilation for 1-2 weeks. Consider buying or borrowing the book ‘Everlastings’ by Bex Partridge.
