Creative Printmaking with Fizzy Drinks

Join Rachel for this playful, experimental printmaking session. Using Coca-Cola, Foil, and vegetable oil, you’ll explore a lithography-inspired printmaking process that uses chemistry and simple household materials to produce unique textures and rich tonal effects.
It’s a playful way to explore foil printmaking without traditional equipment, no prior experience needed.
Preparation
Prepare your materials and find a sturdy table or floor to work on.
Video time
30 minutes
- Heavy duty foil
- A5 piece of cardboard
- Masking tape
- One or a selection of the following; wax crayon, oil pastels, chinagraph (grease pencil), permanent marker
- Coca-Cola
- Shallow container filled with water
- Kitchen towel
- Rubber roller (brayer)
- Oil based printing ink
- Paper
- A baren, or a wooden or metal spoon
The idea isn’t to buy lots of new equipment but to use what you have!
