A Walk and talk in the Lake District: The NHS 5 Steps to Mental Wellbeing
Host: Elaine Fisher, outdoor personal coach, The Lakes Coach (International Coaching Federation accredited)
The Lake District’s beautiful scenery has inspired many poets and thinkers, drawing over 18 million visitors each year who come to relax and enjoy nature. For Mindspace week, we invite you to join Dr. Elaine Fisher, The Lakes Coach, on a walk up Brant Fell.
Along the way, you’ll take in stunning views of Lake Windermere and reflect on the NHS’s five steps to mental wellbeing. This mindful walk will bring the outside in and also feature a conversation with Jo Andrews about how spending time in nature can add meaning to our lives and how walking and talking with others outdoors can help improve our wellbeing.
Walking and talking with a friend in nature supports these NHS 5 Steps to Mental Wellbeing:
1. Connect with other people
2. Be physically active
5. Pay attention to the present moment - mindfulness
