In this short 12 minute tutorial, craft tutor Gemma demonstrates how to make natural, chemical-free hair masks using fresh ingredients. Gemma shares recipes for three conditioning hair masks.

Gemma recommends using the masks on clean, dry or towel-dried hair for best results.

Apply mask, leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse off. Use once a week and within 24 hours of making.

Tropical hair mask: 

  • Coconut oil 
  • Banana 
  • Avocado 
  • Blender or fork 

Olive oil mask: 

  • Olive oil 
  • Strawberries 
  • Egg yolk 
  • Blender or whisk 

Pumpkin/butternut squash mask:

  • Pumpkin/butternut squash (par boil to soften for blending) 
  • Lemon 
  • Honey 
  • Natural yoghurt 
  • Blender
