Benefits of Exercise for Dementia

Although exercise cannot slow down or prevent Dementia once a person has the condition, physical activity can offer the opportunity to spend time with other people and maintain independence - Alzheimer's Society.

Regular physical activity can improve self-sufficiency, self confidence and cognition, and can also help to build or maintain muscle strength and balance, helping people living with dementia maintain their independence for longer - Dementia UK.

Physical exercise can also help to improve mood, by reducing anxiety, stress and depression and increasing endorphins which make us feel good.
