Q+A with Robert Thorogood

Guest: Robert Thorogood, screenwriter and Sunday Times best-selling writer, with Claire Bell from Listening Books

Claire Bell from Listening Books, the audiobook charity, is joined by Sunday Times best-selling novelist and screenwriter, Robert Thorogood, for this month’s book chat. Robert is the creator and co-producer of the popular BBC One series, Death in Paradise. The author discusses his new ‘cosy crime’ book, Murder on the Marlow Belle, the latest in the Marlow Murder Club Mysteries, which are based in the town where he lives. The Marlow Murder Club Mysteries feature a team of resident amateur sleuths who leap into action when mysterious events occur. The books are now part of a major BBC TV series.

Murder on the Marlow Belle features the mysterious disappearance of Oliver Beresford, founder of the Marlow Amateur Dramatic Society. After an exclusive party aboard The Marlow Belle pleasure cruiser, Oliver’s body washes up on the Thames sporting two bullet holes. Oliver’s wife, Verity, calls on The Marlow Murder Club for help. But Oliver’s a complicated man with enemies aplenty. And are the Marlow Amateur Dramatic Society quite what they seem? The amateur detectives must keep their wits about them if they’re to stop a killer getting away.
