Join Abigail Wilson writer of Roald & Beatrix: The Tale of the Curious Mouse, Sky Original Christmas Special.

Roald & Beatrix is a one-off comedy-drama inspired by the true story of when a six-year-old Roald Dahl sets off on an adventure to meet his idol, author Beatrix Potter. The makers describe it as “a magical story of what can happen when you are brave enough to follow your dreams…”.

Dawn French stars as Potter, and leads an all-star cast that includes Rob Brydon, Alison Steadman, Nina Sosanya, Jessica Hynes, Nick Mohammed and Bill Bailey, with John Hannah narrating. Dahl is played by newcomer, nine-year-old Harry Tayler. The production also features animal actors and puppets.

Abigail also discusses the challenges presented with much of the filming for Roald & Beatrix taking place in Cardiff under COVID-19 restrictions.

Abigail Wilson’s comedy writing credits include French & Saunders, Absolutely Fabulous, Jam & Jerusalem, Trollied and Stella, amongst many others.
