Welcome to Mindspace Week

Speaker: Sam Ward, Deputy Chief Executive, Royal Voluntary Service

Royal Voluntary Service Deputy Chief Executive, Sam Ward, welcomed everyone along to Mindspace Week at the Virtual Village Hall. Mindspace Week marked the World Health Organisation World Mental Health Day. Sam introduced the NHS 5 Steps to Mental Wellbeing, 5 evidence-based steps you can take to help improve your mental health and wellbeing:

1. Connect with other people
2. Be physically active
3. Learn new skills
4. Give to others
5. Pay attention to the present moment (mindfulness).

Sam previewed the week’s programme of self-care content, from coaching sessions on gratitude, mindfulness and resilience to yoga, meditation, gentle exercise classes and mindful crafts and activities.
