How to create a simple spring flower arrangement: Floristry

In this colourful session, florist and illustrator Sue demonstrates how to make a simple but beautiful floral arrangement using flowers and foliage that can be found in the garden, on a walk or from a store/supermarket. Sue also shows how to make a decorative pot to display the finished flower arrangement in.

Preparation: Collect plenty of flowers and foliage from your garden, on a walk or buy from a shop/supermarket; gather the equipment needed and clear a space to work at.

Video time: 15 minutes (allow for additional time to pause the video to follow the instructions or to try out a technique)

 

Materials and equipment you'll need to take part:

  • Cut flowers – either bought or from your garden
  • A vase, jug, jar/tin or other container
  • Kitchen roll or pretty paper
  • Ribbon
  • Masking tape and thin tape such as double sided tape or insulation tape
  • Scissors or secateurs
  • Water
