Join craft tutor Gemma as she demonstrates the art of sashiko, a decorative stitching style from Japan. Gemma explains how to use sashiko designs to decorate bags and other fabric that you might have at home.
Prep: prepare your materials and clear a space to work

Materials and equipment you'll need to take part:
- Grid paper or a piece of paper with a grid marked on
- A pencil
- A ruler
- Something circular to draw round, ideally 6cm
- Fabric chalk
- Some fabric or a plain tote bag
- Sashiko thread or embroidery thread
- Long needle
